Recherche! Beautiful Bags Made from Japanese Obi Are Available at the Encorepreneur Cafe

Pamela Burkland creates Obi Bag under her brand name, Recherche. She re-purposes vintage sashes imported from Japan, into elegant, softly padded, two-compartment shoulder bags. The bags are constructed one at a time by hand, and no two are ever exactly alike. Pamela said the hand-sewing of each bag is mindfulness and meditation; it reminds of a time when artisans created their work by hand with pride and attention to detail. Aligning with those traditions, while blending beautiful fabrics with vintage to antique buttons and embellishments, brings vintage East to meet vintage West.
You can buy the Obi bags at the Encorepreneur Cafe. Come and check these antique, vintage, beautiful bags here. Recherche bags are also available in these shows this summer: Edmonds Arts Festival (June 15-17), ArtSplash Tualatin (July 13-15), Bellevue Art Museum (July 27-29).
