Let’s get together for some informal games of Mahjong! We ask that you RSVP so we can get an idea of how many will attend, how many mahjong sets we need, and what styles people want to play. We’re just getting back to Mahjong in person, so we’re going to have to see how these go, how many people show up, etc. Susan, our Mahjong teacher who started it all, is planning on joining us in August.<\/p>\n

***For now, our Mahjong events will be for vaccinated people only.*** Masks are required (based on Multnomah County regulations). Once we have checked your vaccination card (paper or digital copy), you won’t have to show it again.<\/p>\n

In the past, Tuesday Mahjong has been for Chinese and Japanese styles, and we hope that continues to be the case. For now, we’ll have to see who responds and shows up, and go from there. There are always people here who can teach Chinese style for new players. For Riichi and other styles, it will depend on who responds. We’ll use this page to communicate more info as it comes in.<\/p>\n

Please bring your Mahjong set if you have one! We have 2 sets here, but if more than 8 people show up, we will need more than that. For Riichi, we have the sticks but not an official Riichi set with red fives. We can either mark some of the tiles in our set or play without the red fives, unless someone has a Riichi set they can bring.<\/p>\n

PAYMENT NOTE: The fee is sliding scale ($5 – $10), and you may pay using Paypal at https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/paypalme\/encorepreneurcafe<\/a> in advance or pay in cash or card at the door. It will be used to help pay for the space, staff time, and keep this meetup going. We will provide water, soda water, coffee, tea, and snacks. Thank you!<\/p>\n
