To Our Community,

We wanted to make a brief comment regarding concerns people may have about going out and attending events, classes, and meetings in March because of COVID-19. We want everyone to do what they feel is right for them and their own health. All we ask is that you please take CDC and local health authorities and their recommendations under consideration before deciding whether to interrupt your regular routines and activities. As of today, our organization has not cancelled any of our own programs or events for March.

We want to assure you that we are currently taking precautions here daily to disinfect surfaces that get touched often, such as tables, chairs, countertops, door handles, appliance handles, toilet, sinks, and light switches. We have antibacterial soap and hand sanitizer available. We have serving utensils and serving bowls for snacks, so there is no need for people to touch any communal food with their hands. Please, if you are feeling sick, stay home. If you are feeling well and healthy and don’t have any other specific health reason to stay home, please come on by and join our events and programs.

We will continue to follow updates from the CDC and Oregon Health Authority closely and will act accordingly if the situation changes. Any statements by us will be released on our Facebook page and website.

Thank you everyone, please stay safe!

From the Multnomah County Health Authority, as of March 5:

“For now, regional and state public health officials said COVID-19 is not yet severe enough or widespread enough to proactively implement preventive school closures or cancellation of larger events. They are closely watching what is happening in other states as they consider measures being implemented to minimize spread.

If you are well, we are not recommending any changes to people’s daily routines. And please do not discriminate based on your perception of where someone or from or where you think they may have traveled.”
