POSTPONED–DATE TBA

Blending techniques from Aikido, Qigong, and Yoga, this class includes light stretching, self-massage, and guided breathing. Relax your body, improve balance, and increase function. This is low-impact exercise for all ability levels and ages.

The core focus of this practice is being conscious of and in control of that which we are normally unaware: the breath. In kokyuho (energy breathing exercise, used as part of Aikido and Yoga), it is important to direct our consciousness to our bones, the core of our body. We consciously relax the bones, gradually relaxing the organs and muscles.

The class starts with individual stretching, followed by relaxing exercises. From there, we will continue to the kokyuho breathing exercises.

This is a good exercise for those wanting to improve:
-organ function
-metabolism
-balance
-fall prevention
-lower back problems
-knee issues
-eye strain

We do not do any forced movements, so even those who have not exercised in a long time or are not good at sports can enjoy participating. The soft movements gently relax your entire body, improving organ function and metabolism. All the exercises in this class are done standing or sitting in a chair.

The class fee is $10, which can be paid on-site via cash or credit card. You can also pre-pay via PayPal here: https://www.paypal.me/encorepreneurcafe

About the Instructor
Mayumi Hasegawa has been an entrepreneur and designer since 2000. In 2009, she lost her voice due to hard work and stress. She joined a kokyuho class and soon after regained her voice, which she had lost for one year. She continued to practice kokyuho, and this led to her study of qigong, yoga, and aikido. From these practices, she established her own energy breathing exercise.
